Hello fall! Autumn has always been my very favourite season. To me, fall feels like a new beginning – a time to slow down after a busy summer, enjoy comfort foods and comfort clothes, and take some time to re-evaluate life before the days get shorter and darker.

Throw in some September beach days, family birthdays, Thanksgiving and Halloween and I’m happy… until we get into the miserable, rain, sleet and snow of November that is. This fall is hitting differently. It feels like a much-needed break after a more “normal” summer than the past two years – a summer packed full of events and activities, combined with the hope and optimism this continues into the fall and holiday season.

While this all feels like great news, uncertainty is still rearing its ugly head in the form of pandemic-related supply chain issues, directly affecting the publishing industry. While it becomes more challenging every issue to get a print product in our readers’ hands, we are committed to persevering to celebrate the 8th anniversary of Grey-Bruce Boomers in December. I’m proud of our team, and thank our readers and advertisers for their continued support.

In this issue we look at oral health and how it ties to overall body health, as well as the trend of people letting their grey hair shine through. We give Niagara Falls another chance and are quite surprised at what we find, while a local cyclist overcomes health issues to tackle the Italian Alps. We also look at the life of Kincardine war hero  and community champion Charles Mann.

We hope you enjoy this issue and have a great fall!
