Thank you for picking up the second issue of Grey-Bruce Boomers, the area’s only magazine specifically for adults 50+!
Our inaugural issue, which saw 10,000 copies distributed through hundreds of businesses, health care centres, community centres, grocery stores and homes across Grey/Bruce, has been more well-received than we ever dreamed possible. Thank you to the many readers who sent letters, emailed and called to express their pleasure in finally having a high-quality, locally sourced publication targeted to their generation. We are very grateful for our advertisers, contributors and distributors who allow us to be the voice for local Boomers.
In this issue, we explore Ecuador, South America’s up-and-coming retirement and vacation hotspot; local health care professionals share their expertise on menopause and stroke prevention; a landscape architect provides tips on creating the perfect planters; we look at some of the tricks and traps to estate planning; we delve into the history of Morland Place in ‘If these walls could talk…’; and we meet some amazing local volunteers in our Bucket List and Game Changer features.
As always, we want to hear from you. Email me at amy@greybruceboomers.com or call 519-524-0101 with your story ideas, thoughts on the magazine, and ways we can improve. Also, if you or someone you know is checking an adventure off their Bucket List or is a Game Changer in your community, we want to hear about it.
I hope you enjoy this issue as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Please support our amazing advertisers and wonderful distributors, and let them know you found them in Grey-Bruce Boomers!
Thanks for reading – and happy spring!
